The anti-capitalist/global justice movement is heading to Evian for this
weekend to demonstrate against the G8 summitt. This will be a very
important event in the history of the movement that opposes corporate
globalisation and war. Activists from all over Europe are heading to
Geneva and Annemasse to take part in alternative summitts and debates
and of course the united demonstration and blockades on Sunday.
Globalise Resistance is the only network of anti-globalisation activists
in Ireland to organise a Bus to go to Evian. We are meeting on Thursday
to discuss the events at Evian and how we can build the movement in
Ireland. It is going to be a very exciting few months in Ireland with
the World Editors Forum in June, the World Economic Forum in October and
then the EU summit in January. We must use these opportunities to make
sure that not only is another world without poverty and war possible but
it becomes a reality.
