Is Keir Starmer autistic? His public persona (or lack of), absence of interpersonal skills and obsessively technocratic outlook might lead us to conclude so. But that would be unfair on autistic people, says Steven Tucker.

The anti-capitalist/global justice movement is heading to Evian for this
weekend to demonstrate against the G8 summitt. This will be a very
important event in the history of the movement that opposes corporate
globalisation and war. Activists from all over Europe are heading to
Geneva and Annemasse to take part in alternative summitts and debates
and of course the united demonstration and blockades on Sunday.
Globalise Resistance is the only network of anti-globalisation activists
in Ireland to organise a Bus to go to Evian. We are meeting on Thursday
to discuss the events at Evian and how we can build the movement in
Ireland. It is going to be a very exciting few months in Ireland with
the World Editors Forum in June, the World Economic Forum in October and
then the EU summit in January. We must use these opportunities to make
sure that not only is another world without poverty and war possible but
it becomes a reality.

Any chance of the swimmies (aka globalise resistance aka socialist workers party/movement)hosting a meeting beyond the confines of a pub? Any chance of promoting alternatives to the misery of the politics of alco smoke anger that the physically challenged and intellectually corrupt red and black provocateurs seem so addicted to? Go on the swimmies, keep spending the euro on multinational beer and cash crop slave wage farmers ciggies, that'll help the capitalists...

Seriously lads, do yis not know that there is a huge grassroots community swing against alco culture and its impact on family life and disadvantaged communities?

Drink and drug free politics - get it into your contaminated heads... or perish at the polls. Oh, come to think of it, ye already perish at the polls...

Thanks for your point, I'm in another group that meets in pubs & not always happy about it - can you please suggest any other alternatives that are free and easily available for groups to book at short notice?

Unfortunately pubs are just free and handy. And some groups will not give rooms out to political groups that they think are 'up to something' etc.

Is this the British controlled Irish SWP who control the Irish GR which came from the setting up of the British GR who told the Irish swp to set up their GR, who then are the only GR, that is the British GR/SWP not GR/SWP Irish, to speak on behalf of the SWP/GR and the IST and who control all the GR'S at all the anti capitalists demos.
