category national | miscellaneous | news report author Saturday April 26, 2003 17:36author by Ernest Pilar Report this post to the editors

All very interesting, but how many readers of these pages can read Catalan ? Judging by some of the reactions to postings I have sent in it's clear that a considerable number of readers of Indymedia can't read English !

its cool by the way.
whose leaving this level of De Selby codex in my way?
Muslims are demanding the help of Marti Alanis for a mosque....The resident muslim community are continuing the work to find a new place where the faithful may hlod a mosque. After the gov. have negated their request for a space because according to the pres. of the Islamic cultural centre Mohamed Raguig (lol:-) "they have told us that there is space (such as a shop) or land available" The group anounced yesterday that they will solicit the help of the co-prince archbishop [Andorra is since the fourteenth century a prinicpality shared by French count and Spanish archbishop very odd] Joan Martí Alanis, because “as the supreme authority in the prinicpality” he may interced with the gov..The muslim community are using an underpass at the moment at Engolasters, a Escaldes.

ok.
dont have time.
they are being forced to use an underpass... they feel uncomfortable, not so happy, think of these people finely tunewd religikous sensibilities and are feeling a wee bit degraded.
and they are asking all the provinicial councils for help and been turned down.

= so I suppose they are asking everyone for support now, and i havent looked at BCN IMC but i suppose its there too.

and the prayer the faithful want to put up!
is about their liberty to religious expression.

hjmmm.

what happened to the mosque in the North?
the one David trimble didn't want?

Andorra is a very strange place.
speaks Catalan.
politically weird.
shared "titular crowns" of Spanish and French state. do water, cheap tobacco, snow, cheap drink, gambling, cheap everything, cheap tax and have problems with
rubbish disposal, immigration (¿?¿?¿?) defence(!!!!!¿?¿?¿?) and transport links.
well no, they still are "andorra" coz it's pretty tiring to get there.
no-one hauling up an invasion army there.
and they haven't given the USAF a reason to air bombard them...yet!

bit like Donegal.

we have Avi H one of our pro Israeli contributors in discussion with Penny and Marc who are in Israel and appear to be pacifists.
The question of the human shield contribution has been raised.
so ask yourself,
what are the links between muslims without a place of worship in Andorra part administered by France whose Minister of the Interior Sarkosy has the best record of any Euro-`politican at building mosques, and Lots of yes lots of foreigners in the occupied territories acting as international observers.

is that all they do?
well the training period they take part in prepares them for raisingh their hands in internationally recognised peace gestures and plonking themselves in front of Israeli tanks and soldiers.
They place themselves between the specially comisioned Caterpillar bulldozers and the houses of Palestinians.

They harvest the olives for the Palestinians who can not leave the occupied areas.

Now see the focus of the comments.
the reflect what might be called "left" and "right" of contemporary Israeli and Jewish thinking on the conflict.

notice that Avi H, refers to anarchy within the Palstinian areas.

The human shields most recently lost a 23 year old US volunteer, Rachel Corrie, but since her more have been injured. the week later a Swede recieved a bullet wound to his face, before the current phase of shields there were other internationlist groups that have volunteered for "supervising" the Israeli conscript army on its borders.

This is all very good and interesting, but possibly the maddest collection of postings I have seen on indymedia (& thoroughly enjoyable.) The Portadown Masjid is going ahead as far as I am aware and opposition to it is collapsing. (Trimble's comment that the campaign in support of Portadown's moslem minority was Sinn Fein orchestrated is very telling of attitudes. basically if you are critical of Unionist racism or sectarianism, then you are a fenian. Ok so I am a fenian)

Som Fenians, Musulmans, i Catalans tots!
