Mahmoud al Abbas, Palestinian Terrorist Chief, Caught.

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Wednesday April 16, 2003 14:30author by Avi H. Report this post to the editors

Living Proof of Link between Saddam and Terrorism

US Troops apprehend this evil man in a swoop on his house in Bagdad, after he is refused entry into Syria.

Clearly hung up to dry by the Syrians, unlike other top Iraqi Baathists, Mahmoud al Abbas is the face of the link between Saddam Hussein and Palestinian terrorism. Head of the Palestinian Liberation Front, which was a faction of the PLO originally, he has been coordinating Iraqi payments to the families of Palestinian suicide bombers after their rampages among Israeli homes, schools, shops and markets.

He is said to have masterminded the hijacking of the Italian cruise ship Achille Lauro in the Mediterranean in 1985. During the hijacking, he had been in direct radio contact with Yasser Arafat. Every word Arafat said was recorded by Israeli and Egyptian intelligence. Abbas chose one passenger, a wheelchair-bound 79 year old man named Leon Klinghoffer, as a hostage. Although the media state only that he was an American, Mr Klinghoffer was singled out because he was a Jew (just like in Daniel Pearl's murder).

"What should I do with him," Abbas asked Arafat.
"Throw him into the sea," Arafat answered.

Abbas carried out his order and Klinghoffer died. Mr Klinghoffer's frail wife witnessed the entire event and died a few months afterwards of cancer. Italy sentenced Mahmoud al Abbas to life imprisonment in absentia for this hideous crime.

However, he has still has to answer for an array of additional crimes personally committed inside Israel. There, he is best known for a thirty-year old terrorist atrocity in Nahariya, when he personally murdered members of a family, of which only the mother, Yael Haran, survived.

Please don't insult our intelligence by responding with the usual, yes, but Israel did this, Israel did that...

This post is not cut and paste, friends.

Ie, its not just a cut-and-paste from another news source.
Its another example of the monomaniac's tendency to use everything as a jumping-off point for a discussion of their favourite subject, true, but it is original.

Avi what is it with you getting so excited about Iraq's links with armed organisations. I mean both the US and Israel have sponsored armed non-government organisations that target civilians (aka terrorists). So for that matter has Britain. Your not calling on Iraq to invade them are you?

For those of us who know that targetting civilians and making 'weapons of mass destruction' is part and parcel of what governments do your 'revelations' are not so exciting. The fact that you get so excited about Iraqi terrorist links and so far undiscovered WMD's but ignore those of Israel, the US and Britain makes you look like an apologist for these regimes rather then someone with any genuine concern. Which is funny because thats what you accuse others of.

Avi/Ray, any sources for your article, or did you make it up yourself?

author by Joepublication date Wed Apr 16, 2003 15:09author address author phone Report this post to the editors

kokomero if by asking for sources you are wondering if the story is true then it seems to be. See http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/2952473.stm

That article is worth reading because as you get through it you realise that the story is a lot more complex then Avi pretends. Looks like the US is rowing back on a deal already stuck and accepted by the Israeli high court because it really, really needs to find justification for its invasion and occupation. This seems to be a bit like if they arrested Gerry Adams then next time he visits the White Hourse.

author by Daithipublication date Wed Apr 16, 2003 15:14author address author phone Report this post to the editors

As far as I can see, the article is something that Avi has written - first we get a call for editorial action because it's copied (which it's not) and then "did you make it up?". The story is being widely reported in mainstream media, so I'm not sure what we gain at all from it being here, but it's certainly not a fabrication.

Notwithstanding that I wish the proxy warriors on both sides would give up and take their textual battles away from Indymedia, there are a few things to bear in mind; (a) original is better than cut and paste, (b) original with sources is better than original without sources, (c) if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen (i.e. forget about trying to get articles you disagree with suppressed when you kick and scream when your own articles get the same treatment).

Doctor claims that soldiers terrorised unarmed staff

THE rescue of Private Jessica Lynch, which inspired America during one of
the most difficult periods of the war, was not the heroic Hollywood story
told by the US military, but a staged operation that terrified patients and
victimised the doctors who had struggled to save her life, according to
Iraqi witnesses.

This so called "terrorist" has long since denounced violence and on some occasions has condemned it,just like Gerry and Martin and they were welcomed at the whitehouse. He also has immunity in Israel and has been allowed into the West Bank(very generous of the Israelis seeing its not their land). So why the Yanks are calling him a wanted terrorist for is beyond me.Praise be to Allah and the heroes of September 11.

What's going to happen to him?

I'd say the Italians won't get him, even though they want him. I doubt that the Israelis will get him. Despite the fact that there was an amnesty, the argument is being made in Israel - for those of you who don't speak Hebrew - that it is null and void, since the amnesty was dependent on the Oslo Accords. These are themselves void, as they traded land for peace: the Palestinians got land in stages alright. However, they never stopped trying to murder Israelis, not even for a week, so the Oslo Agreement has not been implemented; and it is now generally regarded as dead.

That leaves the Americans. Possession is 9/10s of the law and they have him in custody. He murdered someone with American citizenship, so I don't think George Bush will let me go, especially not to a cushy Italian prison. I'd say he will be tried by a US military court and then either be executed or sent to Ft. Leavenworth there to weep and wail and gnash his teeth for the rest of his days.

I have been to Ft. Leavenworth: it's where the US Army send its baddest boys. As such, it's not a very nice place at all and if I were Abu Abbas, I would definitely prefer execution.

Hey Avi, why so upset about the Klinghofer dude ... combat is combat, these things happen ....

PS: What's your proof that Arafat gave the "order" and if he did how come he wasn't charged as an accessory ...... ?
Do you have any evidence that would stand up in court ?

Jailing all of your opponents doesn't work as is borne out by our experience in Ireland, and is at best a temporary solution. Sooner or later there will be peace and killers on both sides will be let back onto the streets ... get used to it!

Abbas was pardoned and under agreements signed with the US and Israel he is immune from prosecution.

He was even at talks in Israel some few years ago and there was no problem.

Is this Bushs "Road Map" or has he folded up the map in a desperate attempt to surermilk this to cover up for the lack of WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION .

toda shalom.
you copied Aznar's statement.
yesterday in Cordoba a journalist was buried.
his coffin was adorned with two Easter lillies.
he was killed by the USA.
Aznar has recieved 23 questions on the nature of the "friendly fire".
The father of that journalist is one of the most senior figures in Spanish Marxism. the IU.
His sister called from the pulpit for the hounouring of her murdered brothers wish that all bases of the USA be subjected to invasive massive marches.

Avi. H. you know that that PLO man was known to be in Bagdad. and was protected under international law.
You also know that this war was illegal.

and if you look in your heart at this Passover time you know the Peace shall not come by heaping injury on pillage.

THINK avi.
really do.

Avi H. and all his friends now know that the Levant is changed.
on Pla de la Palau Barcelona's still existing peace camp there is a map of the region.
around USA lie Jordan, Syria, Turkey and Kuwait.
all changed.

Avi you owe it to your people to think a little bit more.
Saddam is now gone.
shall you so quickly declare the
Iraqi people who are incorporated in the USA as enemies of Israel?

happy Passover.

Avi H. is a Zionist shill. Judging by some of his posts he probably did active service in the "occupied territories" as he claims to have had a lot of contact with Arabs - without specifying exactly the circumstances so we can only speculate about that ....
But it would not surprise me if he was paid to post here .... otherwise why would some dude in Israel give a fig about what went on at indymedia.ie .....

His double standards are now clearly exposed for all to see.

When anybody makes a criticism of Israeli military activity against the Palestinians, he howls about over-hasty conclusions, lack of proof, anti-semitic prejudice etc.

But when he has a point to make, no substantiation is required.

Type in the following sentence in any decent search engine:
"Abbas carried out his order and Klinghoffer died"

You will find at least a dozen or so pro-Zionist sites repeating the allegation that Arafat "ordered" Klinghoffer's death.

But if the evidence to prove this allegation really existed why was Arafat not charged as an accessory in the trial which saw Abbas' conviction in absentia ?

Avi repeats rumours, unsubstantiated allegations and hearsay when they suit his ideological agenda.

And then gets his knickers in a twist when others do the same .....

And you expect him to switch his brain on ..... ?

Well maybe you believe in the possibility of miracles ........
