'Shoot your officers' : US Soldier does the honourable thing

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Monday March 24, 2003 00:57author by James McKenna Report this post to the editors

As the "three day war" enters its fifth day the US and UK are taking a pasting that is testament to their feeble soldiering skills their inbred officer corps and their over reliance on ineffective technology

Sgt. Asan Akbar, bless him, is being questioned in connection with a fatal grenade and small arms attack at a 101st Airborne Division camp . He lobbed four grenades into the commanding officers tents and shot the first two rats to run out with his side arm.
Col Ben Hodges , commander of the 101st Airborne, who only yesterday said US forces were finding "no resistance" is today lucky to be alive and like the other 15 senior officers that Sgt. Akbar dealt with so honourably, he can certainly attest that their is significant resistance from every front. Has the US army realised yet that it has walked into a lions den? Of course not , it's arrogance and misplaced self confidence that brough them to Iraq and it is that same ignorance that has sealed their demise.

More senior US officers were shot in Nasiriyah where dozens of US soldiers were killed, hundreds injured and 11 taken prisoner. 17 US tanks were destroyed and the Iraqi casualties, including those clutching white flags, so numerous they litter the desert.

The UK are shooting reporters and the US are rocketing UK planes?

In Afghanistan the 16th Black Hawk helicopter has gone down "due to mechanical failure", killing 6 . Of course the Mujahideen in Afghanistan like the Iraqi Army are not effective at taking down helicopters, so it had to be "mechanical failure". Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Anaconda have been a complete failure and Afghanistan is now more lawless than ever.

The brainwashed idiots who believed and spouted the kneejerk excuses for this massacre can hang their heads in shame. The other idiots who think that siding with bullies in this adventure was for "the economic good " of the country are also in great error.

I'm disappointed that any anti-war author would rejoice in the death of any human being - those who carry out the orders of the dictator Hussein or the war criminal Bush are no friends of mine but I find it revolting to see a killing described as "honourable", it is that sort of disdain for human life that motivates the bombing of buildings irrespective of the "collateral damage". Life is life is life, full stop.

You sound like one of those idotic Iraqi leaders claiming victory after victory. At least they have an excuse, to say different would result in their execution by Saddam.

Feel free to continue jacking off to thoughts of an Iraqi victory, just remember that it just a fantasy.

I must admit I am pleased that the US army is not getting to massacre and slaughter the Iraqi people in their own country.

I support , respect and admire the courage and bravery of the Iraqi army in defence of their own country from criminal invaders. They are fighting for their country not for Saddam. Do you think the IRA in the 1920's were fighting for De Valera or do you think they were defending their homes against invading "Black and Tans" and the British Empire, just as the people of Iraq today fight the mutated and larger British/US Empire.

These are the Iraqi villagers we were told were so oppressed by Saddam that they would welcome the US and UK armies with cheers and open arms. They are instead showing that while Saddam was brutal in his suppression of their previous US backed uprising, they are more determined to kill the Crusaders who have caused the death of over a million of their people through a deliberate programme of genocidal US/UN sanctions.

My sympathy to the poor American and UK soldiers killed and captured. The Crusader army should throw down their weapons and tell their officers they will not fight this criminal and sinful war. A couple of years in prison would be better that killing or being killed. Their parents at home must demand this.

Citizens of these countries need to demand their sons and daughters are returned to them now. They need to stop believing their brainwashing that their children are off doing a "brave thing". The ones shown on Iraqi TV didn't look that brave or sure why they were there.

As for my sources, do you think I am lying? Do you think I work for the Pentagon - those lying dogs? Try these.

James, No one is accusing you of lying, its just good journalism to quote your sources, it adds credence to your story and quashes anyone trying to refute it from the outset, or sue you or indymedia for libel or slander.

No need to get defensive, just something to look out for in your future posts.
