Build the movement from the Base up

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Friday March 14, 2003 14:36author by Davy Carlin - W/Belfast SWP and Anti War Movementauthor email carlindavid at hotmail dot com Report this post to the editors

Several anti war goups have now been established in W/Belfast. The Falls Rd, Andersonstown Rd and Lenadoon, Twinbrook/Poleglass. There are also individuals who are going to do their own estates and other areas including the Shankill Rd. Thousands of posters and leaflets are being provided by local trade union branches as well as local community and political organisations within West Belfast and that support is very welcome. Anyone looking to get involved in activity in a local group or individually in their areas to leaflet, poster etc for the feeder march and other planned actions contact me at my E-mail and I can put you in touch with local groups.

If by 'the movement' you mean the IAWM it has already been built from the top down, like it or not. Are you proposing scrapping the IAWM and starting again (but this time from the base up)? Or is this simply more black=white, up=down stuff?

Bit late? Why have you not tried it yourself. Or are you a moaner at how a movement develops without providing an alternative route yourself?

I see anti-cynic and 'irony is dead' (anonymous SWP member) do not disagree with the point made. They just don't want me to make it. Good enough, it is shutting the door after the horse has bolted. I will disturb them no further.

Just shoot it.

Don't make promises you can't keep Sinic. Oh and I answered your question with a question which I see, you didn't answer. Kettle. Pot. etc
