there seems to be little discussion or analysis from sf and the sp/swp on the new EU constitution

category national | miscellaneous | news report author Sunday March 09, 2003 21:36author by curious furious Report this post to the editors

We need more information about what is going on at an EU level instead of having to wait for government and fine geal/labour lies in the 3 weeks or so of a referendum.

Of course the sf and the sp/swp will launch "active" campaigns again with about 3 weeks or so to go to the next EU referendum! In the meantime expect no analysis on what is being done behind our backs with the new EU constitution, convention etc from these useless opportunists.

people expect too much from these chancers they want to fool the punters into voting for their pathetic political parties. Its a wonder they even bother to jump on the bandwagon when the next EU referendum is called. I suppose it lets them pose as an alternative and raise their profiles a bit.

Simply because you are not aware of things, does not mean they don't exist. I can't speak for the SP or the SWP but I know we are certainly keeping an eye on it through our membership of the Committee of European Affairs, where we are the only party opposed to Nice to have representation.

You may also be unaware that the Forum on Europe is still meeting and there is a meeting tonight on the subject of an Overview of the Convention at which Alan Dukes, Joe O'Toole and Aengus O'Snodaigh are speaking. Another meeting is taking place on the 24th in Limerick. During April and June there will be meetings in Wicklow Town, Clonmel and Sligo all of which will be attended by Sinn Féin representatives.

How many will you be at?

It looks like the sinners are a bit more up to date than the sp/swp for once! does someone have to praise all 3 'parties' in order to be not accused of trolling. Mind you I can think of worse insults for some of those parties

... Do you read the journals of the SP and SWP?.. I doubt that you do, so how the fuck would you know.

I dont want a socalled nicer EU empire. French interventions in Africa over the last 30 years were as bloody and caused as much if not more chaos as the Americans in their adventures. The British tried to make it mandatory that all the EU support their war in the Malvinas. No to empires of any kind.Ireland with its history of empires should be immune to this but our little gombeen ruling class wants a share of the action. The economic domination of the rich European states united in the EU is destroying East Europe and Africa. Look at the damage done within the EU. The CAP is destroying the ecology and damaging the third world.Thoses who support a European army want it to have an offensive role in protecting the interests of European capital.Of course, it will be dressed up as humitarian etc. But then what imperial adventure was not supposed to be for the highest motives. The Normans came here to civilise us and reform celtic christainity. Beware of all this. Look at the work of PANA and other bodies which document this.

I hate the way some pricks come onto indymedia and misrepresent the positions of my party. Why dont they buy a paper, they are freely available and it wont break the bank! If you regularly by the publications of the different parties you will be informed when you come onto indymedia, maybe then you wont just mindlessly attack us!
