anyone got any photos of the good march? The non boring preachy socialist one?

This was the good march. Maybe you might think that joke WSM march was more fun, it was because it was funny to laugh at the great unwashed confront some fence that has about 1000 gardai with dogs, riot gear, water canon, helicopters etc.

I had already put a link up on this website but it appears to have been taken off. I would like to ask why (1)as it was a different article to this one (2) Other news items have been posted reflecting the the same subject matter of different photos and have been left online. These being two examples (http://www.indymedia.ie/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=32982) ( http://www.indymedia.ie/cgi-bin/newswire.cgi?id=32981).

I am very disappointed at this show of hypocrisy if the above is the case, yet I hope I have misunderstood the situation.

Here again is the Link

There are 10 new shannon photos online there.

Aidan,

I had posted it two articles above this one. Around 5 30.

author by Daithi - IMC IEpublication date Fri Mar 07, 2003 19:52author address author phone Report this post to the editors

Hi Shane - the culprit is me - it was hidden because it was the same photo as had been posted by Finghin in his set just two articles down the newswire (i.e. here), and without the photo the content was just a link - wasn't anything hypocritical or vendetta-like. The articles you link to are two separate articles because there is a limit of five photos per post set by the system here.

The deleted article was notified to the list of hidden posts automatically, with the reason for deletion added by me at the time (5.30) but only came through about half an hour ago.

Quickest way to query a deletion, BTW, is to email the editorial list, and someone will get back to you ASAP. Sorry about any confusion; you can rest assured that what you put up wasn't censored because of its content (ideally I should have added your link to this post but you have taken care of that now)

Thanks

Daithi

3º is a good photo. I like the sky, and it made be smile becuase almost every picture I see of Ireland these days has a yellow flourescent Garda in it. This one has two Bright Gardai walking at about two metres apart (maybe more?) and one in the background gaurding a fence.

And if you look really carefully you´ll notice two other garda with riot shields and helmets walking as well. It seems to me that Ireland still has those guache grey skies that caused all those horendous Turner watercolours. And still the rain and the green green grass, and a new splash of colour--- The yellow flourescent garda.

You´re all going go to go on doing your thing aren´t you? I reckon the WSM are too.

:-)

Keep it up, especially ensuring that all the photos include views of the SP / Youth Against War banner and even a silhouette of Uncle Joe Higgins.

Better than being in the shadow of Andrew Floods ego down at the Direct (in)Action.

author by mwahpublication date Sun Mar 09, 2003 16:03author address author phone Report this post to the editors

floody's shadow. ha. if many people there even knew who he was it was because they came along and helped plan the action. I cant believe everyone is so het up about the fact we didnt get over the fence (in action my arse) like we expected to... Expecting a riot? Disappointed?? It was announced as NON VIOLENT.
'stick to the main march, do not look at the infidels, you will turn to stone, or maybe begin to think for yourselves' (Or something similar I heard shouted as the socialists marched past.)
