Revisionism In UCD![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ....tear up fascism before it takes root. In UCD last tuesday, A4 sized text heavy posters appeared all over campus, issued by the Revisionist education Organisation (http://www.geocities.com/david_noone88 email address [email protected]), a thinly described fascist group. With a heading of 'The media has brainwashed you with propaganda your entire life. Our society is sick. Revisionism is the cure' the leaflet goes on to make a series of arguments against the holocaust ever happening, which apparently merely serves as a 'pretext for the present system of tyranny.' Undoubtedly, the appearance of these leafletts on campus are linked to the recent vox pop in the University Observer, which posed the question 'which ethnic minority do you hate the most?' causing scandal on and off campus. The incident resulted in UCD SU condemning and calling for the resignation of the papers editor. The issue was revisited in the Times on Sunday, and it is this coverage i think which gave the distributors of the leaflett the idea to target the campus, after the Observor had contributed to and almost legitimised a racist climate in UCD. Apparently, a number of the sabatical officers in the Union were emailed and asked about the possibility of holding a Revisionist meeting on campus. The result of trying to humourise racism through Vox Pops like that in the observer, has now to be better understand as simply an incitment to racial hatred and an encouragment to the development of fascism and the far right. The posters seem to be on notice boards in all the arts faculties and were also seen in the student centre, and on the campus concourse. Make a note of where you saw them, the organisation claiming responsibility for them and forward details on to Anti fascist Action Ireland ([email protected] or through their website at http://www.geocities.com/irishafa) Tear fascism up before it takes root, tear down and destroy any of these revisionist posters you see. |

it was appended at the top: http://www.geocities.com/david_noone88
...because there is no point in hiding the site from public view for the sake of a few peoples' milksop sensibilities.
If you stifle public discorse on any issue it just causes trouble in other ways. While the observer question "which minorites do you hate most" was loaded and could of been phrased better its lead to a chance for you to show the revisionist movement for what it is. while i understand your concern that coverage of these views leads to thier legitmisation. Investigation and exploration of why people hold these views is the only way to change them.
"tear down and destroy any of these revisionist posters you see"
Hey why dont we have ourselves a little book-burn here while were at it.
where do you draw the line?
Thanks for the info antrophe.
The person behind this stuff is a Brian Wallace; also uses names David Noone, Wal, Faurisson and a load of others.
Just to make clear to people that there isn't an 'organisation' - just Wallace and his website. You can also download his diatribes off the website, which is likely what someone did.
Wallace spends a lot of time leafletting UCC in Cork and recently got himself invited to speak at a debate by the Philsoph. He does little more than parrot mad Nazi/Revisionist stuff he read on the internet. He must spend his whole life having stupid arguments on bulletin boards, which he convinces himself is winning over supporters.
We have been getting quite a lot of information in about him, but any more people have is good. As Michael Collins (allegedly) said - "We need to know what they had for breakfast"
We have also had his stuff on the UL campus a few weeks ago.
Its a shame how just one person can make this look as if there is a strong organisation behind it.
Can he be brought up on incitment to hatrid act or something?
Was Brian Wallace the guy how tried to set up the Nazi Society in UL back in 97?
Lucky it didn't get off the ground.
