For every one going to a meeting there are others with the same feelings who haven't bothered. And every one who goes speaks to friends and family etc. You shouldn't be so cynical I haven't heard of a meeting that big in galway ever.
Wow, 230 people. Anyone got any idea what the population in the region is ? The fact is most people don't give a fuck and the idea that you can you have any influence on politicians is ludicrous. They will do what they want and won't pay any attention to a few crusty hippies and some student wankers. It will all be forgotten in 6 months never mind when the next election comes around.
The meeting was brilliant and a great turnout too, and I know lots of other people who couldn't make it, but will be up to Dublin on the 15th.
Excellent news! Public opposition to the proposed war is definitely growing.
