The BBC has run a story claiming UK spring temperatures are up 1.8?C. It's alarmist agitprop straight from a Green Blob press release and it doesn't check out when you look at the facts, says Chris Morrison.

The Javaad Alipoor Company is a theatre company with a woke "nine-point manifesto that drives everything we do". Inevitably, the Arts Council is stuffing it with taxpayers' cash. Why do we fund this crap?

Limerick Institute of Technology wont let any society hold any political meetings or events within the collage.

LIT has recently had its first sinn fein cumann started up back in october 2002.
up until christmas of that year getting rooms for meetings and public lectures was relatively easy.

after christmas we tried to organise a public anti war meeting, with a prominent TD.
we were refused the room under the pretense that it was against policy, is is apparently the collage's "tradition" not to hold any political events in the campus.

any advice or support you can give would be muchly appreciated,

its not the UL pres who you should go to. You're in LIT, go to the LIT student's union and kick ass. demand the right to hold political meetings in the college, the college has no right to refuse you holding political meetings. every IT and uni across Ireland holds them .they may not like it,as i'm sure a lot of their money comes from US companies but you're paying also for the running of the college, you being a student automatically entitles you to hold poitical meetings. do not let the college walk all over you.

thaknns for your ideas, but that wont work we did something similar to that and our so-called students union told us they agreed with the collage.

we took this right to the top but got no satisfaction as of yet, with every day that goes by our patientence wears away and it look more and more like a protest is on the cards.

we have some of our experienced friends making phone calls this morning but im not too positive.
anyone wants to come to the protest we will try to put ye up, and its only a half hours drive from the peace camp which we will be going to shortly.
thanks for your support again

I dont want to sound boring but sometimes pickets work! The publicity may embarass the fuckers. Its also probally illegial to deny you freedom of speech so maybe a campaign on this or a legal case in the bourgoeis courts would almostcertainly be won. Try Free Legal Aid etc for advice on this.
