 Ministers likened to Three "Wise" Monkeys who want to hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil.
Workers’ Party spokesman Padraig Mannion has likened the Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, Foreign Affairs Minister Brian Cowen and Junior Minister Willie O’Dea to the “Three Wise Monkeys” who have adopted a “hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil attitude” to US military landings at Shannon Airport. Mr. Mannion was responding to this morning’s radio interview by Willie O’Dea in which he refused to countenance the possibility that arms and ammunition are being carried on the US planes. “The truth is the government hasn’t got a clue what’s on these planes and doesn’t appear to want to know what’s onboard”, said the Workers’ Party spokesman. “Despite numerous calls from peace activists and concerned citizens regarding the cargo on these planes, the government has refused to carry out any inspections of the planes in question. Instead ministers including Willie O’Dea have have tried to dance around the issue with a mixture of plain untruths and babble”. The Workers’ Party spokesman called for an immediate end to military refuelling and flyovers in Irish airspace which he described as a flagrant breach of Irish neutrality. |

No sure about the three "wise" monkeys, I could think of a few choice adjectives other than wise
