Vidi et noti bene.

we want no Saddam nor Mugabe here.
SAddam led agricultural reforms in line with the international Baith socialist islamic party conference during his vice-presidency of Iraq.
That led to irrigation.
That policy is to be restarted by the French favoured candidate for Saddam´s replacement and would lead to drinking water for the south of the country.

Mugabe supported the occupation of farmland by farmers as a reaction to local grassroot action.

As an okupe I quite agree, Mugabe attempted to use farmers´action for political capital in the continuing land ownership problems that beset Zimbabwe after the transition from Rhodesia.

I recall a similar process and problems beset Ireland during the tariff war which followed independence.
Many farmers will remember what occured between land owners in Ireland during that period.
So no to Saddam
No to Mugabe
but a big yes to okupes.
whose land is anyway?
lovely tractors.

Does anyone know more about the stocking of hill pasture as opposed to lowlands? Is it really true that the subsidy system is encouraging farmers to keep sheep on the hills?
