Workers at Cityjet Handling have been on strike for nearly two months. The key issue in this dispute is union recognition. Cityjet Handling are attempting to introduce yellow pack labour into Dublin Airport. If they succeed then the wages and conditions of employment of all workers in the airport will be threatened. Cityjet management have taken out an injunction against DAWN (Dublin Airport Workers Network), who have been organising solidarity protests in support of the strikers at Cityjet Handling. 12 people, including Socialist Party Councillor and SIPTU shop steward Clare Daly have been named in the injunction. An Appeal to Trade Unionists
Please make every possible effort to support the Cityjet strikers by attending these protests - it is possible that the Gardai will try and arrest some of the 12 people named in the injunction - your presence can help stop these arrests as well as helping to win this vital dispute. |
