Shell is sponsoring the National Theatre's new production of 'Oedipus', and, unsurprisingly, Art Not Oil is preparing a response on various fronts. We're asking people if they're up for making an artwork of some kind as a response. The Irish Republican Youth Movement, Ógra Shinn Féin, have said that they are committed to campaigning for the immediate release of 1983 Long Kesh Escapee Pól Brennan, who has been incarcerated in a US prison since January this year. Trade unionists across all unions are today being urged to reject the proposed national pay agreement. Following a conference of over 70 activists and union shop stewards a campaign is now being launched for the biggest no vote. The conference was organised by a number of trade union activists from both the private and public sector and addressed by Jimmy Kelly, regional secretary of Unite, one of Ireland’s largest unions.
