The Connolly Youth Movement is appalled by the contents of a leaked email containing a confidential briefing by Daniel Mulhall, Director-General on the EU at the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs to a British diplomat Elizabeth Green. The CYM believes that this clearly shows the attitude of the Irish and EU establishment to the Irish people and the upcoming referendum. The confidential email shows that the Irish government is intent on pushing this Treaty through without the serious debate that the issue warrants. They want to confuse the Irish people, in the hope that by not understanding the ramifications of approving this treaty, they will vote yes. ... read full story / add a comment

Defenceless animals should not be part of this type of atmosphere. This also sends out a message to children that animals are mere toys to be used by humans. ... read full story / add a comment
