The “public service deal” is historic betrayal of public service union members by ICTU and its Public Services Negotiating Committee of general secretaries.The National Public Services Alliance calls on the elected national executives of individual unions to reject these destructive proposals without ballot where rules permit.

Should national executives put these proposals to ballot, the NPSA will campaign vigorously in each union for a “no” vote

The NPSA also calls on all national executive committees of individual unions to keep directives and forms of industrial action in place rejecting the call by Kieran Mulvey to end industrial action.

Local Cork bands The Altered Hours and Mashed Chicken and DJ Dr. Fiasco will play a fundraiser for Solidarity Books in Cruiscin Lan on Thursday 1st April starting at 8pm. Cork WSM, who have organized the event, anticipate a good turnout. Since opening its doors in December 2009, Solidarity Books, a non-profit radical book shop and meeting space, has become a hub for the local Douglas Street Community. Ógra Shinn Féin erected a number of murals in Carrickmore, County Tyrone last night (22 March) ahead of the main Easter Sunday County Commemoration taking place in the republican heartland.

The two murals erected on Quinn's Corner are one urging people to 'wear an Easter lily' in remembrance of Ireland's patriot dead and the other one is highlighting the strong solidarity links between the Basque and Irish Youth.

The murals are the first of many to be erected across Tyrone in the coming week.

The European Commission today issued Ireland with a final warning to provide its citizen with access to justice that is not ‘prohibitively expensive’. ‘There is no doubt whatsoever that the potential financial consequences of losing legal challenges is preventing NGOs and individuals from bringing cases against public bodies and so denying citizens their legal rights as Irish citizens.
