A crazy man addressed the United Nations yesterday, he seemed to believe that Iran posed a nuclear threat to world peace. He appeared unaware of Israels possession of up to 400 nuclear warheads while Iran has zero. This crazie is threatening to plunge the Middle East into War. Full text at link. In a bellicose speech before the United Nations Thursday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu demanded a “red line” be placed on Iran’s nuclear enrichment program, outlining a plan of action that would lead to war next year, if not sooner. Employing a crude cartoon drawing of a bomb with a lit fuse, Netanyahu said that action to physically destroy Iran’s nuclear program would have to take place before the uranium enrichment process began its final stage, which he claimed would happen around the spring or summer of 2013. “The hour is getting late, very late,” he declared. ... read full story / add a comment

From The Irish Times , September 24 2012 Twelve months ago I gave a presentation on the subject of youth drug and alcohol abuse to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Health and Children. I highlighted the huge pressures facing Ireland’s youth, including peer pressure, bullying, unemployment and emigration, all within a national atmosphere of despair over our collective future. Where are the condemnations? Where is the outrage at the murder of a journalist? Silence from Washington. Full text at link. Iran’s Press TV claimed its Damascus correspondent was killed Wednesday by a rebel sniper while reporting on bombings in the Syrian capital. Two car bombs struck the Syrian Army’s command headquarters, setting one of the buildings on fire. Maya Nasser, a 33 -year-old Syrian national, was killed while reporting from the scene, Press TV said. No diplomacy from Obama, its election time, so its also time to threaten war against Iran.He ignores the fact that inspectors have found no evidence that Iran is developing nuclear weapons and of course he ignores Israels possession of 400 warheads. The Workers Solidarity Movement’s newspaper last week asked why the anarchist group’s fellow CAHWT campaigners in the United Left Alliance had held a press conference the week previously to announce plans for “a public campaign of resistance to property tax and austerity”. As the Presidential election approaches Jimmy Carter praises the Venezuelan electoral system. Full text at link. I hope it does some justice to the man, Frank Morrris is one of those men who deserves more attention and emembrance than he's received. Not all of the Syrian Opposition Groups wish to impose an Islamist Dictatorship by force of arms. There are long time dissidents who wish to achieve peaceful change, they have opposed the armed actions of the Islamists from the outset. The holding of the conference was facilitated through talks between the Russian and Syrian Foreign Ministers. Full text at link. Syria opposition members are holding a meeting in the capital Damascus to debate peaceful ways out of the long-lasting bloody conflict. The Free Syrian Army (FSA) is boycotting the forum.
