The Police have made arrests and issued fixed penalty notices of two political activists in Liverpool. Liverpool has long historical links with Ireland and the attached articles may be of interest. The Chinese government is suspected of being behind the recent “denial of service attacks” on the Marxist Internet Archive website . Brian Basgen who has worked on the site since 1990, says that ,since January , there have been hundreds of attacks ,99 percent of which emanate from China . As a consequence , the MIA may be forced to sacrifice its Chinese language material to keep the rest of the archive open .
