Council grants injunction against protestors The High Court has granted an injunction to Limerick County Council against four people who have occupied the county buildings since yesterday afternoon. Mr Justice Iarfhlaith O'Neill granted the injunction against Donal O'Brien and Kenneth McCarthy from Pallaskenry Co Limerick and Patrick Gleeson and Daniel Foley from Kildimo Co Limerick. The court was told the four are members of the Bleach Lough Water Retention group and are involved in a long-standing protest against plans by the County Council to change the water supply to the Kildimo/Pallaskenry area. There’s one useful bench-mark for judging the progress of the Bolivarian revolution over the coming years – how much does the role played by Chavez himself diminish, and how rapidly? You can’t assess what’s happened in Venezuela over the last eight years realistically without recognising that Hugo Chavez has played a positive role. But an asset can become a liability, and the commanding position of Chavez could be an obstacle to the emergence of popular democracy in Venezuela. Howard’s spin-doctors have been working overtime to no avail it would seem. The President Johnson Center of NASA in Hueston Texas was seen to shooting less than 4 days after suggestible and gullible world viewers had begun to absorb the V Tech Blackburg Massacre. Information on the man who alledgedly broke into the facility without proper ID, being stopped, retina scan, finger-print analysis or voice-print is reported as having taken a hostage who was killed. The man then commit suicide. This is not the worst massacre in US tech facility history & will not usurp the legacy of Columbine. It is suggested that the Iranian invasion of Mexico in 2003, supported by an alliance of Arab nations including Syria and Lebanon, has now claimed over 2 ½ million lives. The justification for the invasion as we now know was false – Mexico possessed no weapons of mass destruction and posed no threat to Iran’s ally Venezuela. Delara Darabi -- Artist on Death Row Needs Our Help! On January 27, 2007, Iran’s Supreme Court upheld the death sentence of Delara Darabi for a second time. Delara faces death by public hanging for a murder that took place when she was 17 years old. After murdering a woman related to Delara, Delara’s 19 year old boyfriend, Amir Hossein, convinced Delara to admit responsibility for the murder to protect him from execution. Apparently, both believed that because Delara was under the age of 18, she could not be sentenced to death. This belief proved to be devastatingly false. With complete disregard for its obligations under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child , and despite overwhelming evidence of Delara’s innocence, as well as her repeated denials about having had any role in the commission of the crime, an Islamic court found her guilty of murder based solely on her initial claim of responsibility and sentenced her to death by hanging. ... read full story / add a comment |
