This is very serious and something has to be done about this hideous proposed Planning Application on the grounds of the Kilmardinny and Super Valu on Lorcan Avenue in Santry. Many of these apartments that they want to build are 6 storeys high in an area which has always been a 2 storey area. Naturally the residents of the area, especially those most effected by this proposed development, those on Lorcan Avenue and Lorcan Grove are vehemently opposed to this on a number of grounds; including; but not limited to; increased traffic, noise and pollution, reduced water pressure, loss of light and lack of privacy, and are preparing to fight this very strongly. Now this particular version of this Planning Application has been declared invalid, but from all the information available, they are going to reapply again very soon with the exact same plans. Click on the link below and read the full information on this Planning Application below as well and see for yourself the huge size of this. ... read full story / add a comment ![]()

Peader de Bluit Tá seanfhocal ciallmhar sa Gaeilge a deir, "Mol an óige agus tiocfaidh sí". Tá nath ábharaín éagsúil ag an gluaiseacht seo áfach. Is minic na laethanta go gcloistear á rá, "Mol an Ógra agus tiocfaidh siad". Sé sin le rá go mbeadh inchur níos mó ag an t-aos óg, todhchaí na gluaiseachta agus na tíre, i gcúrsaí ar leith. ... read full story / add a comment

In a recent interview published in the Washington Post, former US secretary of state Colin Powell said that the US "didn't have enough troops" in Iraq to restore order following the ill-fated US-led invasion. In saying this, Powell is not revealing anything, but in fact concealing plausible accounts of American soldiers actively inciting Iraqis to plunder public buildings at the time of the invasion. ... read full story / add a comment

While journalists writing on the front page of the Irish Times have reproduced the Department of Foreign Affairs' official line that the US military traffic at Shannon is taking place under a mandate from the United Nations, a close look at UN Security Council Resolution 1483 shows that there is more plausibly a mandate for Ireland to opt out of the US war of occupation in Iraq, because this has created conditions of persistent instability and insecurity there. ... read full story / add a comment |
