Regarding Information about a coursing field that causes many hare casualties. A Coursing supporter rang us today relaying a dispute in the ICC and Limerick Coursing Club as follows. We received a call today from a disgruntled and annoyed Coursing supporter who was concerned about limerick Race track being used as a coursing venue. He must have ran out of options to resolve this scenario if he rang us. We already knew that the Irish Coursing Club had decided last month to move the “Irish Cup” hare coursing event from Limerick Racecourse owing to its unsuitability as a coursing venue. There is however a meeting this week of top coursing people on Thursday, July 26th,at the Horse and Jockey Pub? We are told ‘at which very powerful people within the greyhound industry will be pressing for a reversal of the ICC’s decision to move the “Irish Cup” event from Limerick Racecourse’. ... read full story / add a comment ![]()

The finding of three mutilated greyhound carcasses this week at a popular seaside resort (Kilteery Pier in County Limerick) shows just how expendable these animals are deemed by their owners once their performance days are over. The likelihood that they were greyhounds bred for hare coursing, judging from their build, should serve as yet another reminder that we are one of the few remaining countries that still permit this depraved and viciously cruel blood sport. ... read full story / add a comment

Why is Hidden History hiding ? Last evening, Tuesday, 25th November, I flicked through the TV listings for something worthwhile to watch. I came across a docudrama on RTE one at 10.15 pm. It was entitled, ‘DEATH OR CANADA’. I switched on RTE one at 10.15 and discovered that the docudrama was actually another of those terrible Hidden History programmes. I was surprised to see that it was Hidden History and though it unusual that it was not advertised as so on the TV listings. I immediately checked last Saturday’s Irish Times TV guide. The programme was listed on RTE at 10.15pm under the title DEATH OR CANADA, no mention of Hidden History. On the top of the page under the heading, TV CHOICE by David O Dwyer I see a review of the docudrama, it reads as follows. ... read full story / add a comment

On 1 October 2007, the Weston Gardens Residents' Association, of which I am Cathaoirleach, sent a letter by registered post to Brendan Kenny (CEO Limerick Regeneration Agencies). When Mr. Kenny did not respond after 3 weeks, we decided to go public. On 24 October 2007, we bought a full page in the Limerick Leader and published a shortened version . The reaction of Mr. Kenny & co. was predictable; spin and deny. ... read full story / add a comment

Open letter to Minister John Gormley TD. The letter outlines how Limerick County Council's motor tax office have forced me off the road and are now failing to take responsibility for my plight. It is a complaint to the Minister, in the hopes that he may help to resolve the situation. I have not had an acknowledgement from the Minister's department yet in relation to my email. I have circulated my letter to a number of newspapers and it remains to be seen if they publish its contents. ... read full story / add a comment

Amer Wreck A Say it out loud and you’ll get it. The blurb describes it as Fahrenheit 911 meets Moulin Rouge and it has something for everyone- brilliant comedy about the current US President, fantastic music from 60s, sex and full frontal nudity, and a ‘God’ figure that I think most of us would be happy with! On top of that there’s a strong message about political activism. definitely one to debate in the pub after. Everyone in limerick should grab the chance to see it. Only till Sat night in Belltable. For those of you unfortunate not to be in Limerick, I hear rumours of a movie version... ... read full story / add a comment
