From white hot anger to silent, sometimes sobbing, despairing empathy, one is torn apart over here, from being an unwilling participant in, what amounts to, a snuff movie to witnessing and hearing about Israeli barbarism, where medieval torture is visited on a helpless people with the world as voyeur and where the coup de grace is never administered, but threatened in a "bigger Shoah" than Israel's, one doesn't have an alternative but to grow stronger for Palestine. read full story / add a comment

Galway, Ireland. This was filmed in November 2008. Thousands upon thousands of square metres of commercial space. All of it empty. Everybody is talking about the residential property crash while these buildings lay empty for years. Who is paying for this?
Commercial property is still seen as a sure investment by banks. Why? This is a very big elephant is dancing in the cupboard. read full story / add a comment

Some 40 people took part this lunchtime in the march from the top of Grafton street to the Greek embassy as part of the International Day of Resistance and Solidarity. Leaflets proclaiming that ;Our lives do not belong to the state' were distributed and the banners unfurled. On arrival at the Greek embassy we observed that the frontage had been splattered with red paint and at least one window had been broken sometime previously. A greek comrade gave a short speech on what was happening in Greece and the we dispersed read full story / add a comment

Everyone knows that an Iraqi journalist threw his shoes at GW Bush in Bagdhad in December 2008. It's a story which got its global media coverage with predictable attitudes and spin & could easily be forgotten, were it not for a few factoids & considerations as well as precedents. "Today (Friday), the assembly of the occupied Athens Polytechnic decided to make a callout for European and global-wide actions of resistance in the memory of all assassinated youth, migrants and all those who were struggling against the lackeys of the state. Carlo Juliani; the French suburb youths; Alexandros Grigoropoulos and the countless others, all around the world. Our lives do not belong to the states and their assassins! The memory of the assassinated brothers and sisters, friends and comrades stays alive through our struggles! We do not forget our brothers and sisters, we do not forgive their murderers. Please translate and spread around this message for a common day of coordinated actions of resistance in as many places around the world as possible.
