Is is justifiable to be a member of the catholic church with its history of child abuse cover up, anti women ideology, pro capitalist policies? All those who supported McQuaid and opposed the mother and child scheme have to condemned. They slunk away before the catholic church with their tails between their legs. They "proved" that Paisley and his ilk were correct that the South was a catholic state. they have blood on their hands. read full story / add a comment

A Chara, Our 'leaders' are trying to wave through a terrifying Merkel/Sarkozy plan that would abolish our right to choose sane economic policies and that would permanently ban vital public spending - all to appease big banks. But we live in a democracy and we should have the right to vote on any permanent changes to how Europe operates, and together, we can stop our leaders trashing our democracy and our jobs. read full story / add a comment

An article outlining the devastation and mass murder caused by oil companies in Nigeria.

Current investment in exploring for gas and oil in Nigeria is expected to reach 45 billion dollars this month, according to a 30 November report in the industry newsletter Sweetcrude. By coincidence, in a statement cosigned by numerous European film stars and other public figures issued the day before, Amnesty International France called for the major oil companies to be "compelled" to fund a massive proposal to clean up the damage they have already caused during the last half-century of oil drilling in the Niger River Delta. The initial cost of this plan drafted by the UN Environmental Programme would be a billion dollars. read full story / add a comment

Today, Veterans for Peace, Catholic Workers, Occupy London and other anti-war activists gathered outside the High Court in London in solidarity with WikiLeaks activist Julain Assange. Julian has spent the past 363 days in England under house arrest without charge. A secret U.S. Grand Jury continues to sit in Virginia pursuing indictments. Leading U.S. Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gringrich has stated "Julian Assange is engaged in terrorism. He should be treated as an enemy combatant." We believe the U.S., British, Swedish and Australian governments are planning to do just that! We are all weary of the war which has now entered its second decade. We need to question the lies of our war making governments, defend the human rights and offer solidarity to those resisters like Julian Assange and Bradley Manning who are being defamed and pursecuted for exposing the nature of these wars in which our governments remain complicit read full story / add a comment
