Should it drop its UK status and fully merge with and become part of the Republic of Ireland, without borders? Or should it continue as part of the UK with its own parliamentary Assembly? 'Restorative Justice - Healing the Effects of Crime' Written by Jim Consedine 'The Celtic Tradition: Repairing the Damage' It then reads: Fivefold are Crimes * the crime of the hand by wounding or stealing * the crime of the foot, by kicking or moving to do evil deeds * the crime of the tongue, by satire, Slander and False Witness *crime of the mouth, by eating stolen things *the crime of the eye, by watching while an evil deed is taking place Brehon Law existed in Ireland until the final Tudor conquest in 1500. The Irish had their own form of Criminal Justice System. The Brehon laws was based on its own form of restorative justice. These laws were replaced with the harsh retributive system of the coloniser! national / public consultation / irish social forum / event notice Thursday February 10, 2005 17:25 by Barney Hartnett
Barney Hartnett is a Socialist. He is also an active member of his union. In Ballymun on the north side of Dublin he has been editor of the local community paper "The Ballymun Echo" for over 22 years. Barney is also a member of the Retired Workers Committee of Congress. In the April election of last year he was only one vote short of being elected to the Executive Committee. Barney will fight for a fair deal for all senior citizens. His record proves he is the man for the job. Pensioners who are dissatisfied with the recent budget increase of a miserable €12 per week should vote for Barney Hartnett for the Executive Committee. If you are a trade unionist, community activist and senior citizen support Barney in the important election. Lets fight back now! read full story / add a comment
