To make the protest at Shannon on December 8th as effective as possible we need direct action. The action on the last occasion provided a good example of the possibilities. With larger numbers committed to this sort of action we will be able to threaten the US use of Shannon. It would be useful if all the groups running buses to Shannon posted details on indymedia I understand that there is a bus from Cork leaving from outside the Opera House at 10.00am People should begin discussing now how far they are prepared to go things like breaking the law, tearing down fences, getting arrested, blocking roads etc. Form affinity groups so that if you are lifted someone knows and can help you out. Garda Commissioner Pat Byrne has defended his officers for covering up for Gardai who were video-taped attacking unarmed protestors last May. Suicide bomber kills 11 in Jerusalem A Palestinian has killed 11 people and injured at least 49 after he blew himself up on a crowded bus in Jerusalem in the first suicide bombing in Israel since the start of a general election campaign. Thursday's explosion ripped through a bus packed with commuters and school children during the morning rush hour.
