Elements of the Irish labour movement are actively undermining its philosophy to keep establishment parties in power, a Labour Party stalwart has claimed. Declan Bree, a former TD and the current mayor of Sligo, made his comments while addressing a wreath-laying ceremony to mark the 60th anniversary of the death of the Leitrim socialist Jim Gralton on January 1.
His comments were widely seen as a thinly veiled attack on his party leader, Pat Rabbitte. read full story / add a comment

The forces that divide humanity issue from religion, tribalism, racism and self-interest. The fact that right wing groups emphasise the ‘virtues’ of these principles clearly identifies their support base and driving principles. It would seem obvious that an assault on the principles that create undesirable circumstances is preferable to dealing with the (disastrous) consequences after the event. read full story / add a comment

TG4 have recorded a piece on our activities at Lunar Samhain. It features my daughter Jessica and many face painted Druids, student druids and friends and has an interview with myself in Irish. There are some nice aerial shots of Tara and of our sacred firebox on Tlachtga and again on Tara. I made their permission to record our ceremonies dependant on including my position on the forced troll road through the high valley between Tara and Skryne. Today I saw the final edit and gave my approval. You can see this footage at "An Tauth Nua" on Thursday, the 12th of Jan at 8pm and again on Sunday, the 15th of Jan at 8:30pm. Give them your feedback - it will encourage them to further break the reporting blockade of the "corrupt government". read full story / add a comment

The next "Ritual of Protection" for and on Tara will be on the Full Moon, Saturday, 14th of January, six days before the Sun enters Aquarius. We will start our sacred fire by 8ish and finish by ten. Dress in layers and meet on the gravel patch beside the Rath of the Synods at 8pm. We will use our native Celtic Irish language during this ceremony with explanations in English. All are welcome to attend this free and open ritual ceremony on and for Tara. read full story / add a comment

A psychedelic cult known as 'The Ultimate Comment' is hosting a public party on the LUAS to celebrate its feast day, Christmas 2. The party will take place on the LUAS as it travels along the green line from Stephen's Green to Sandymount and will start at 12 noon on the 2nd of January. The Ultimate Comment has been described as an elaborate joke masquerading as a religion, a religion masquerading as an elaborate joke, and 'a bunch of drugged-up hippes'. Adherents aim to find The Secret Of The Universe (also known as The Ultimate Comment) through the science of Metacommentology and the worship of the Eight Gods: The Dimensional Transfunctioner, General Miaow, Triangulon, The Holy Spoon, The Reality Fish, Thomas The Walking Head, A Magical Trumpet Called Bill and The DXM Angel. They claim to have already discovered 7 of the eight components of The Ultimate Comment. read full story / add a comment

Right-wing nations are now utilising their new ‘anti-terrorist’ laws. Activists are being targeted and arrested in the US and Australia – who is next? The following information may prove useful in the event of arrest. A ‘friend of mine’ was recently detained for questioning by state police; his experiences were similar to those of others in the milieux. Familiarisation with the procedures and methodologies of our ‘regulatory authorities’ is invaluable in the event of arrest or detention. read full story / add a comment
