Galway Blazers Foxhunters have returned to hunt on the Bishop of Clonfert’s farm in Loughrea, Co Galway, they spent two hours there on Saturday last.. Members of the Galway Blazers hunt were spotted on the church land again by an observer who rang the hunt saboteurs. Apparently badger setts were also disturbed according to the observer. We are investigating this and are urging our members ring or write to the bishop. We have photos of the hunters on the land.

We do not know whether the hunt had permission from the bishop to be on the land .We appeal to the Bishops compassionate nature(if he has one) to take steps to protect wildlife on the Catholic Church lands. We will also be contacting the Wildlife Officers regarding the protection of Badgers.

'Press Officer Bernie Wright ' we are disgusted at the apathy and lack of compassion towards sentient creatures displayed by the Catholic Church, its obvious the blazers were not denied access after a similar incident a few years back.'

An Australian son abandoned by the nation and his government has decided to fight the fabricated charges brought against him by the criminal Bush regime. You bloody little bewdy! Against all odds and after years of psychological and physical torture Hicks proves his mettle. The murdering yanks and the slimy Howard government COULDN’T BREAK OUR LITTLE AUSSIE FIGHTER! One can only imagine the forlorn faces of the Howard servile government who no doubt desperately hoped that Hicks would break and accept a plea bargain in time for the elections. The Hicks case as previously stated has all the ingredients to bring down the servile government of John ‘deputy-sheriff’ Howard. read full story / add a comment

What is the mixed economy of welfare and why, despite Mary Harney's assurances in that, what she is doing is really in the interest of all the Irish people and not a back door method of promoting the privatisation of our health service in the interest of the doctors and consutant's who collectively and directly contribute to the demise of the same public heath service from within.

After visiting Rossport last year and learning about the Shell to Sea campaign, a friend and I wrote an article for our local press. Here is the final article (http://www.pulsetc.com/article.php?sid=3006) which was published on February 28, 2007 in the "Pulse of the Twin Cities," a weekly paper from Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota, u.s.a.

The article ran in the print issue next to an article about a 300+ mile oil pipeline slated for construction in our state. It appears that Big Oil wants a piece of our backyard too. Article 12 of the UN International Covenant on Economics, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) provides the right of everyone to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standards of mental health. This right is the central human dignity of the person. Principles for the protection of persons with mental health - the MI principles were adopted by the UN in 1991 and provide standards in relation to informed consent of treatment. Protection of confidentiality standards - the rights of people in mental health facilities and the provision of resources. This principle is the right of everyone without of exception to the best available mental health care.

I ask the question tonight - with our economy alledgedly booming - why is our suicide crisis representative of such a shambles particularly in area of mental health care? read full story / add a comment

Houzan Mahmoud, Representative of the Organisation of Women's Freedom in Iraq has been threatened by Islamic Fundamentalists. On February 26, 2007, Houzan received an e-mail signed by Ansar al-Islam, the notoriously brutal jihadist group based in Kurdistan/Iraq.

The death threat, delivered via e-mail, read:

"With the permission of Great God, we will kill you either in Iraq or in London by the middle of March, because you are campaigning against Islam. You should be sent to God for punishment." read full story / add a comment

Anyone familiar with the criminal tactics of thoroughly corrupt State Institutions would not be surprised to learn of the plea bargain offered Guantanamo Bay detainee, David Hicks. After five years of torture and various other forms of physical and psychological abuse, the U.S. has offered a deal that would see Hicks released from Guantanamo but not necessarily from continued incarceration. read full story / add a comment

This is an article by Yassamine Mather, editor of Iran bulletin:
http://www.iran-bulletin.org/

The article below is continued in full at:

http://www.cpgb.org.uk/worker/656/iran.htm

B. Traven.

In October 2006, Action Iran, Iran Solidarity and the Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran (CASMII UK) merged to form a single organisation, called Campaign Iran. For Iranian socialists, inside and outside the country, neither the three components nor the new merged organisation address the essential issues concerning the plight of the Iranian people at a time when the threat of some form of imperialist intervention must be taken seriously. The accusation of appeasing a reactionary regime is echoed by many left activists in Iran.
