"As you read these words, the Information Age explodes . . . inside and around you -- with the Misinformation Missiles and Propaganda bombs of outright Information Warfare. Traditionally, war has been fought for territory/economic gain. Information Wars are fought for the acquisition of territory indigenous to the Information Age, i.e. the human mind itself." read full story / add a comment

We are faced with the great challenge of becoming a country that advances toward socialism. The Ethiopian regime, led by the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF), is committing acts of genocide against the Oromo people to forcibly suppress their demand for self-determination. The Oromo people in Ethiopia currently number over 30 million. Before Ethiopia colonized them, the Oromo people had their own Gada State—an indigenous African polity. In the Gada government, the Oromo people elected their leaders for an eight-year term of office. The Oromo people's distinct cultural, social, and linguistic identity has survived multifaceted continuous oppression by successive Ethiopian regimes for the last 105 years. The current Ethiopian regime has resorted to grave violations of human rights to suppress the Oromo people's demand for national self-determination. read full story / add a comment

The following list of sectarian and other hate-driven incidents and attacks is from 1 through 30 November 2002. The criteria we use for inclusion is based on the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) criteria; if a person/organisation feels that the motivation for an attack against them was sectarian (or racist or homophobic), then it should be counted as such. We rely on a number of sources for our information, but this is by no means comprehensive. If you find incidents that have been left off the list please contact us. A full dossier of sectarian and other hate attacks from January 1999 until October 2002 is available on our website at www.serve.com/pfc. read full story / add a comment

Socialist Party members Denis Keane and Michael O'Brien have been found in contempt of Court for illegally picketing City Jet. While it may have been necessary to purge the contempt through an apology these Trotskyites crawled and ended up with very brown tongues. Keane said he "had no intention of breaching the court order" he apologised to the court and said he "would not attend a protest at Dublin Airport in the future". (Cheerio City Jet strikers, you were good for a few Socialist Voice pictures.) In true Revolutionary style O'Brien accepted he "should have made more inquiries about the terms of the Court order". UCD students watch out! These guys will lead you up the garden path. If theres any trouble they will apologise to the College authorities and leave ordinary students to hang out to dry. read full story / add a comment
