Carrickminders sat along the wall preventing them from numbering the stones or any other preparation, and attempts were halted after about two hours. The archeologists did not want to do this work, to have any part in destroying the castle. read full story / add a comment

Approximately 1000 builders are on strike in Limerick. We should remember that BAFTA and other unions representing builders have been attempting to secure decent wages and conditions for people that labour in probably the most dangerous industry in the world. They have been blocked and opposed by employers who would rather hire uninsured, underpaid and desperate immigrants. read full story / add a comment

Greetings and Solidarity from across the ocean, on another island that is opposing the US military. Prince Edward Island is on the East Coast of Canada and on the flight path to overseas from the USA, and a corporation here wants to have the US military stop to refuel, and possibly train. So we're hoping you can help us with: 1) info about why we really don't want the US refueling (or training) here. 2) any messages of warning you wish to send to our local media, etc. read full story / add a comment

national / miscellaneous / news report Monday January 27, 2003 00:51 by Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign
The Ireland-Palestine Solidarity Campaign, in a press statement today, said that the weekend attacks on Gaza which killed 14 Palestinians are a warning of the danger of increased Israeli attacks on Palestinian targets while the world's attention is in Iraq. The Campaign said that Ireland has a role to play. Rather than facilitating US preparations for a war on Iraq, we should be telling the US to exert itself for peace in Palestine.
