URGENT: Carrickminders to Defend Castle Wall![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We're entering a new chapter now - the Archeologists have finished work (although incomplete) and now the NRA is coming soon... Carrickminders to Defend Castle Wall We have taken advice of legal counsel, Colm Mac Eoghaidh and Philip Lee Solicitors. On Friday, January 24th, a solicitors letter on behalf of Carrickminders was sent to Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, National Roads Authority, Department of Environment and Department of Transport. The letter asks for a commencement of formal negotiations between the respective officials and legal teams. In addition, the letter asks for undertakers that work on the castle site will not begin until good faith negotiations have been concluded. Ciaran Cuffe, T.D., An Taisce, Carrickminders, Friends of Carrickmines, along with other groups are working on developing proposals, in response to an invitation given by Michael Egan of the NRA and by Eamonn O'Hare of Dun Loaghaire-Rathdown County Council, expanded at a recent meeting Carrickminders. One of our objections to imminent road work on the site is that excavations there are still not complete. In addition, we will peacefully oppose efforts to remove a ten-foot section of revealed fosse, due to be removed Monday morning at 9am. Contacts: Vince - 087 132-3365 Castle Site - 087 962-7243 |
