Cork Shell to Sea will be holding an Information Day event on the Grand Parade on Saturday 14th April from 2p.m. onwards. The likely venue will be at the entrance gates to Bishop Lucey Park. The Annual 1916 Easter Commemoration in Cork took place on Easter Sunday April 8th. Year on year the numbers attending grow and this year was no exception. Assembly took place at the Wilton Roundabout at 2.30pm. The parade then proceeded to the Republican Plot, Saint Finbarr's Cemetery lead by a Colour party from Sinn Féin (Poblachtach) – Cork, followed a number of pipers of the ex-Cork Volunteer Pipe Band, Cumann na mBan and a large contingent of the public embracing all age groups.

Mary Stokes, Nigel Mooney, Bree Harris, Peter Moore,Pat Farrell and Ben Prevo were among those who sat for portraits in this first ever photographic exhibition featuring Ireland’s own blues Musicians and singers.

A new ‘probability-based’ report, prepared for England’s Ministry of Defence by Rear Admiral Chris Parry, warns of the dangers to political stability which may present themselves during the 2030s. Competition for scarce resources and climate change in a context of growing population will fuel the continuing conflict in the Middle East and possibly give rise to conflict between Islam and an economically-vibrant and still-atheist China. ‘Terrorism’ will be facilitated by technological developments.

We send a special greeting to our imprisoned comrades in Portlaoise and Maghaberry, Co Antrim and applaud the continual prison protest in Maghaberry which has been ongoing since last June. On this note we would like to extend our appreciation to the Republican Prisoners Action Group who have organised and promoted the outside activity in support of the protesting prisoners. We would like to thank all groups and all people who supported these protests.

Underpinning the principles of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) is the UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS adopted and proclaimed by the UN General Assembly on December 10th 1948.
