Israeli society is going through a collective turn to fascism. It is supporting assassinations, extra-judicial executions, openly. These things are really scary. I feel it, I feel like we're in the middle of an unfolding catastrophe and I think, quite often, of those 'crazies' in Germany who resisted. I feel closer to them all the time. read full story / add a comment

Protestors are in the classic role of "protestors", people with no real power over their lives so they must demand it from the ruling class. Demonstrations also point to a lack of creativity; the only thing we can come up with is playing the song and dance of our rulers. How much longer will these protests go on for? If we could only get a few more tens of thousands to protest, will we be successful in overthrowing capitalism, the state and wage-slavery? Why do the state, capitalism and wage-slavery exist, why do the governments of the U.S. and Israel do what they do, and what are we actually going to do about it? read full story / add a comment

The Judicial Reviews taken by the environmental network Friends of the Irish Environment were yesterday withdrawn from the High Court. The actions were taken in April of this year against the decision of the Planning Appeals Board to grant permission for the proposed new peat powered stations at Shannonbridge and Lanesborough and against the licence issued by the Environmental Protection Agency for the project. The group stated its withdrawal was as a direct result of “the Government’s interference in the judicial process.” Mr Brian Cowen, Minister for Foreign Affairs announced on 8 May that measures to allow the ESB proceed with the building of new Power Stations at Shannonbridge and Lanesborough were formally approved by the Cabinet a decision which Green Party Leader called “contempt of Court”. read full story / add a comment
