Below, in the public interest, is extracted approx. 495 words from Phoenix Magazine March 26, 2010 edition, page 9 (under the 500 word fair-use tradition). It suggests "The DFA will continue to get whatever secret overseas information it needs from the State Department and the Foreign Office on a nod and wink and whisper basis, while no one in Dublin notices that Irish passports are being misused." read full story / add a comment

Leo Tolstoy, acclaimed Russian author of such classics like "War and Peace" once wrote a book entitled, "The Kingdom of God is within you". He envisaged that this book would be read by very few and those who did read it, religious and secular alike, would arrogantly dismiss it as rambling nonsense. Yet this book inspired celebrated figures of the 20th Century like Gandhi, Martin Luther King and Dorothy Day to leave their mark on history. Might it be that this book if read and understood by Christians worldwide, might just be a catalyst for ridding the mainstream Christian Churches of their corruption and superstition and instead turn people towards looking at Christianity as a new way of living, just like it was intended to be...the mind boggles... read full story / add a comment

In his latest column for the New Statesman, John Pilger describes the increasing American war front across the world: from Afghanistan to Africa and Latin America. This is the Third World War in all but name, waged by the only aggressive "ism" that denies it is an ideology and threatened not by introverted tribesmen in faraway places but by the anti-war instincts of its own citizens. read full story / add a comment
