The Alliance for Animal Rights (AFAR) are accusing Estee Lauder's Crème de la Mer and Aer Rianta Retail of gross cruelty, repedative neglect and negligence to Seahorses and their young over the past year in Dublin Airport.

SEPTEMBER 2006.

To show our support for the SHAC 7 in USA we destroyed over 70 advertising signs for the Courtney Vegas so called 'American' circus from Wexford in Ireland. This circus now in Balgriffin uses animals in its acts and we have vowed to continue removing their advertising until they stop dragging animals around Ireland.

Two MEAT RETAILER directional signs were taken and butchered in retaliation for the dead animals slaughtered for profit and sold in his shop in Dublin.

The one glaring undeniable fact regarding the Bush administration is the fact that they have failed in ALL their endeavours – in other words they have done nothing right. The latest display of neo-con ineptitudes by John Bolton and Condoleezza Rice regarding their tactical inaction during the conflict in South Lebanon reveals the essential ideology/philosophy of the neo-cons – not only [to], ‘GIVE WAR A CHANCE; but also, WAR IS THE ANSWER’! According to this BBC report , after the events of 9/11 , US deputy Secretary of State ,Richard Armitage , threatened President Musharraf of Pakistan saying that his country would be bombed “back to the stone age” unless it backed George Bush’s War on Terror. The Pakistani dictator was surely not being over-sensitive when he described Armitage 's remarks as "very rude".

The need for an international standing army to prevent horrendous massacres is no more clearly demonstrated than in the case of Sudan's cursed Darfur zone, which is in free fall.

The risk to civilians there is greater now than at any time since the conflict first erupted. The African Union peacekeepers' mandate expires at the end of this month, and Sudan has rejected entry of a UN peacekeeping force.

Aid agencies - the lifeline for 2.5 million people - are threatening to pull out as a result of the direct targeting of humanitarians, leaving the already devastated civilian population further exposed and at risk.

Sudan plans instead to send in a large number of its own troops. Given the government's record, it seems quite likely that - with international observers out of the way - Khartoum can get on with the business of completing the genocide that it already under way. read full story / add a comment
national / bin tax / household tax / water tax / news report Friday September 22, 2006 00:23 by Joan Collins Cllr Ind Soc
The Drimagh Anti Bin Tax Campaign has organised very effective protests at Davitt Road Depot over the last two Saturdays. Over 250 people have turned up at the depot, wheelie bins in tow and have disposed of waste bags in an effective and organised fashion at the depot in protest at the non collection of our bins for non payment of the double tax of Bin Tax. These protests have served two purposes. 1. Solidarity and public protest at non collection and 2.a practical way for people who cannot dispose of their waste into the bin trucks on the mornings of the collection because of work. read full story / add a comment
