This years anarchist bookfair (3rd March, Teachers Club) will see a meeting for Polish speaking anarchists in Ireland. There will also be a 'Polish anarchists in Ireland' stall. Poland has quite a large anarchist movement as a result there are a significant number of Polish anarchists who like other Poles have migrated to Ireland to find work. They have translated a large number of articles written by anarchist in Ireland by WSM members into Polish. These translations are now available on the WSM web site. read full story / add a comment

Foreignpolicy.ie has learnt that only a limited amount of EU legal instruments will be translated into Irish despite the fanfare of Irish becoming an “official” EU language.

A spokesperson for the Council has confirmed to us that regulation number 920/2005 only covers regulations adopted by co-decision. This means that laws adopted outside of co-decision will not be translated and importantly directives (one of the main sources of EU law), resolutions and decisions will not be translated.. read full story / add a comment

Faoi dheireadh tá Gaeilge ina teanga oifigiúil den Aontas Eorpach, ach is scannal é nár tharla seo 30 bliain ó shin nuair a chuaigh muid isteach san AE ar dtús.
Measaim gur seo seans deireanach don Ghaeilge teacht slán. Is trua é seo mar tríd is tríd táim i gcoinne an Aontais Eorpach. I mo thuairim, tá an eagraíocht ann go príomha chun an bóthar a réiteach do ghnóthaí móra. read full story / add a comment
