"So we grabbed my Canon digital rebel and my Sony videocamera and started walking down the street," Marble wrote. "And then right in front of the destroyed tennis court I used to play on Dick Cheney was giving a pep rally, talking to the press. The Secret Service guys patted us down and waved the wands over us, and then let us pass."

As he stood about 10 feet away from Cheney and his friend and some camera operators from CNN and other media filmed the scene, Marble suddenly yelled, "Go fuck yourself, Mr. Cheney! Go fuck yourself, you asshole!" read full story / add a comment

Another story of "the government won the elections". What was once a joke, is increasingly true, one doesn't need to count the ink thumbs, or even trust the polls, all you need to ask is - "who is the current government and do the west like them?"
Answer "yes" they won.
Answer "no" they lost. read full story / add a comment

The recent tragic deaths of two ‘homeless’ people in Dublin highlights the Governments acute inadequacies in serving its citizens. On a weekly basis people die needlessly on Irish streets due to the acute lack of housing and lack of services to those in need. In response to these recent deaths Street Seen, Irish Anti-Poverty Paper, are calling on people to protest in Dublin saying clearly enough is enough: No More Deaths On Our Streets

Its marks the date that modern history began.

Does inequality of wealth really matter?, Richard Wilkinson Professor of sociology, has been researching and gathering evidence of the damage done by extreme inequality between the rich and the poor. As in todays society as the rich get richer, whilst the poor get even poorer. Despite however rich a country is, that country will be more dysfunctional, violent, sick and depressed if the wealth gap between the social classes grows too wide. read full story / add a comment

For instance, the latest one. The biggest clue about who our intrepid crew of fearless reporters believe their readers are, lies in the advertising. This summer flooding really came to Europe. Almost 50 died, a very small figure which reflected community awareness and good municipal responses. But all scientific evidence now suggests that these incidents are best to be considered as part of a new pattern related to global climate change.
We are not dealing with the causes in the short-term. We are thus dealing with effects which are long term. Proverbially the time to put that first stitch has passed now.-

We now face forest fires and flooding of the largest river valleys in summer and extreme storms with tornados in spring and summer. read full story / add a comment
