Focus on Chile takes place in Birr on Wednesday 8th in The Tin Jug Studio, starting with an arpilleras workshop at 4.00 pm, followed by Chilean Shorts at 6.00 and Chilean documentaries at 8.00

Potatoes are not only very versatile as a food in dishes, they are good for the soil and will grow in just about any soil. They dislike soggy soil though, because they do all their growing underground. Our annual potato day will again showcase how easy it is to grow potatoes as a pioneer or start-up crop for new gardeners, breaking up heavy soils and also various new ways to grow them more easily with no dig under plastic, under thick mulch and in loose, loamy soil in ridges and beds.

TDs Mick Wallace and Clare Daly are back in court in Ennis at 2pm on Tuesday March 10th as a result of their attempt to inspect a US military aircraft at Shannon Airport.

This is the second day of a case that has already heard evidence from a number of witnesses who outlined the problematic nature of the US military presence at Shannon. There will be a rally at the Montrose (near RTE) at lunchtime and a motorcade will proceed to Mountjoy prison via the GPO and then a candle light vigil is expected to take place outside the prison.

In Dun Laoghaire at 3pm today a protest calling for the charges to be scrapped will be staged
