Students voted in Trinity today to keep the boycott of Coke and Nestle. 1737 students voted to remove the boycotts (Yes) while 1926 students voted to keep the boycott (NO). On Saturday 26 February, at 1.45 pm at the University of London Union, a coalition of socialist organisations and trade unionists will be coming together to launch a joint campaign against Blair in the looming general election.

The coalition, which will be contesting up to 30 seats, will put forward a socialist/green alternative to the right-wing policies of privatisation, war and environmental destruction offered by both the major parties and the Liberal Democrats too. read full story / add a comment

The last edition of UCC's student newspaper published a full page anti-gay rant, in its latest attempt to whip up Islamopohbia and homophobia

As a gay student I feel very badly let down by the Students Union at UCC.

If racist material had been widely distribted on campus, let alone an article in an SU funded paper whose sole purpose was to attack black people, there would at the very least have been an immediate statement of condemnation by the Student's Union.
