This is cut and paste from Examiner.ie - a great replacement for the fondly remembered free access to the IT. www.examiner.ie. And I beg the censors to leave this here as it is obviously a very important story to many who use IMC. Is this the beginning of the end of Civil War politics? Is Labour in the right list? How do the Greenies with their bizzare idea of a flat rate tax for all fit in? read full story / add a comment

David Beggs, General Secretary of ICTU has stabbed the Anti Bin Charges Campaign in the back. Instead of opposing double taxation, Beggs has supported the bin charges. He condemns campaigners for breaking the law! If Larkin and Connolly had obeyed the law where would the Trade Union movement be today? Show him that he doesnt represent you. Contact Beggs and demand that ICTU support the Campaign and the release of Joe and Clare. Contact: email: [email protected] phone: 889 7777 fax: 887 2012 www.ictu.ie read full story / add a comment

It has just been announced that the worlds Premiere War Monger is to visit London on Nov 19th-21st. Bush and his wife will be staying at Buckingham Palace. There will no doubt be a two tier reception to Bushs' visit, one of Royal hospitality by the Queen, Blair and the Labour gov. who as the world knows are Bushs' foot soldiers, the other will be the voices of truth and opposition coming from the streets surrounding Buckingham Palace. Nothing new here then! read full story / add a comment

From Press Statement Feb 2001. SECRETARY POWELL: We had a good discussion, the Foreign Minister and I and the President and I, had a good discussion about the nature of the sanctions -- the fact that the sanctions exist -- not for the purpose of hurting the Iraqi people, but for the purpose of keeping in check Saddam Hussein's ambitions toward developing weapons of mass destruction. We should constantly be reviewing our policies, constantly be looking at those sanctions to make sure that they are directed toward that purpose. That purpose is every bit as important now as it was ten years ago when we began it. And frankly they have worked. He has not developed any significant capability with respect to weapons of mass destruction. read full story / add a comment

Just back from the high court where 12 named protestors were injuncted for blockading bin trucks. Although I wasn't in the courtroom myself, I did talk to several people who had been inside and their interpretation of events was uniform. The 12 undertook not to do the same again and the judge ruled that they had purged their contempt. The city council also sought to make their injunction permanent against blockading. Surprisingly the judge turned this down. read full story / add a comment |
