January 12, 2003 (20:00) The Green Party is claiming that Shannon airport is in danger of becoming a terrorist target because it is being used by US military planes. Party Chairman, John Gormley TD, says it is now clear that Shannon could become a target in the event of a war. It is also probably a sign of increased readership too. Lovely does it! Welcome. One week can never be enough to judge the merits of this space. read full story / add a comment

Palestinians doubt Blair can deliver," announces the BBC. "Four Palestinians die in West Bank," reports CNN. "Many Palestinian families divided," says NBC. The modern media is filled with stories about the Palestinians, their plight, their dilemmas and their struggles. All aspects of their lives seem to have been put under the microscope. Only one question never seems to be addressed: Who are the Palestinians? Who are these people who claim the Holy Land as their own? What is their history? Where did they come from? And how did they arrive at the country they call Palestine? Now that both U.S. President George Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (in direct opposition to the platform he was elected on) have come out in favor of a Palestinian state, it would be prudent to seek answers to these questions. After all, for all we know, Palestine could be as real as Disneyland. read full story / add a comment

This ain't a story, merely some directions. There's a group called the Project for the New American Century, they have an extensive web-site, who's founding members include Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld. They've been calling for war on Iraq since 1997 amongst other things. I'd recommend a visit to them, they're ever expanding the ideological basis necessary for both Domestic and Foreign U.S policy. Its the heart of the spin machine. Why not ask them irksome questions too? read full story / add a comment

There is growing momentum for solidarity in the anti-war movement in the United States and around the world. Below is a statement from Elias Rashmawi, a leading figure in the recently held world anti-war conference in Cairo, Egypt and a member of the A.N.S.W.E.R.
