"Threads" a BBC docudrama from 1984 focuses on the impact of a full blown nuclear war on the residents of Shefield in the 1980's.
The U.S. and Russia come to blows after a military coup in Iran prompts a Soviet military incursion which provokes an American military response.
The conflict escalates into a full-blown nuclear war which decimates humanity and population of Britain.

The new proposals being put forward by the Fianna Fail, PD and Green coalition to match single parent allowances to a work scheme out side the home is a short sighted move that discriminates against women, a community activist in Limerick said today.

For those not living in Derry, it has been hard to find out what is happening in relation to the trial of the Raytheon 9. The trial process is dragging on in a way that is very unfair to the defendants, their families, and the Derry Anti War Coalition (DAWC).
