In the report linked to below, it describes how the acidity of the oceans has increased because the rate of carbon dixoide absorption has shot up.

Many marine creatures such as corals and sea-shells of all kinds have carbonate shells which are sensitive to the acidity (or pH level) of the water and means they may start dissolving. This would have enormous repercussions for the entire oceanic ecosystems. read full story / add a comment

TaraWatch will hold an information meeting at Tara on Sunday 5th March at 2pm
at the Lia Fail. All welcome, issues to be raised : a review of the legal case,
current legislation, feedback from the petition and the direction of the campaign.
All welcome. The campaign is set to evolve in many directions and will be
continuing, anyone who would like to volunteer for working in the Dublin office
or Meath is welcome to contribute.
70% of people canvassed are opposed to the siting of the motorway. The intention
is to bring in as many people as possible to work on information dissemination
regarding new legislation and to create a central information access point.
