"MEXICO; MAY 1, 2005: For U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, her photo-op tour of Latin American nations last week was supposed to mark a comeback for flailing U.S. policy in the region. Instead – as she jet-hopped from Brazil to Colombia to Chile to El Salvador – the week brought a chain reaction of defeats for her government’s impositions on other lands and victories for the democracy that surges from below...." read full story / add a comment

As critical mass celebrated their birthday in London, critical mass radio launched serious collobaration between radio stations in the USA.

The theme is Mayday.

Its easy to use the radio stations on our network, and to come up with suggestions suitable to more commercial concerns, and rememer there is free telephone software out there run on skype and no excuses for providing good live feed and trans-national coverage and playback to this year's days. you can liven your local shows with words from others like yourselves in far off places. read full story / add a comment

Venue & Date:
The 7th of May. Teachers Club, Parnell Square West, Dublin 1. From 10am to 5pm.

Arising from the EYFA/Gluaiseacht wintermeeting/antiwar meeting a fresh anti-war initiative has been founded.
Despite the continuation occupation and war, Anti-war activity in Ireland has declined steadily from the strong opposition of 2003/2004. The focus has been blurred and there is no network of activists to support each other and to keep the protests going. We feel the time has come to set up a network of activists who will pledge to take an active stand against the war machine in Ireland, i.e. direct involvement in war, weapons and components production or, as in Ireland’s case, offering the use of Shannon airport for the purposes of war and as a pit stop in the transportation of illegal detainees to be tortured at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. read full story / add a comment
