Andras Schiff brought a world-class singer to Dublin last night. Not the first time he has done this - I remember fondly a recital he gave in The National Concert hall with Peter Schrier a number of years ago when they presented "Die Schone Mullerin" in a never-to-be-repeated and excellent recital. It is a matter of regret, perhaps, that there were few enough people in the audience (a lot of empty seats) to hear last night the truly remarkable voice of Robert Holl - a mature singer whose technique is non-pariel. read full story / add a comment

I posted it on this site as I feel that a lot of people using it would share my basic arguments and that such a modest theoretical contribution to a budding anti- capitalist literature might make for an interesting online debate.

As two countries enter the EU in 2007 are we nuturing the seeds of racial tension by opening our borders to people who wish to import their ways and culture into our society. Are we ignoring the threat of Islamic terrorism by endeavouring to be politically correct when dealing with asylum seekers, refugees and others entering this country.
