We the Republican POWs call on all nationalist, Republican people of Ireland and abroad to support us in our upcoming protest for better conditions and the restoration of political status. In 2003 we embarked on a protest for segregation, this battle was won and segregation was introduced in September of that year. At that time the Brits asked for a period of transition and conditions would then improve. These terms were accepted reluctantly by Republicans.

There is a complete lack of parental control and responsibility for their children in this country.
Young girls and young boys totally unequipped for adult life are enagaging in sexual intercourse at increasingly young ages.
This is a direct result from imagery on television, the internet, print media and most importantly from the behaviour of their adult peers.
Every day I recoil in disgust as I see young girls barely finished playing with their dolls dressed in skimpy clothing with rouged lip and make up and overhear them openly using the most profane language and engaging in sexually explicit conversation or blatant heavy petting in public.
Young boys are supposed to fulfill a predatory hard drinking macho stereotype. read full story / add a comment

Now that Stephen Walt and John Mearsheimer have broken the taboo in the mainstream American media establishment of not only pointing out that the Israel lobby exists, but actually analyzing it from their perspective, the only place that open discussion, analysis and debate about the lobby remain firmly taboo is, ironically, ON THE LEFT! It’s a taboo imposed on the left by certain leftist icons and their suppression – if not censorship – of free expression and debate on this topic in progressive venues (lectures, panels, press or broadcast). Even some Palestinian-Americans have been forced to knuckle under to these leftist icons’ denial of the power of the Israel lobby in exchange for those icons’ or certain progressive/leftist groups’ political support.

For example, as of this writing, where is an informed rebuttal to Noam Chomsky's dismissive position on the Lobby or at least an honest, open debate about the lobby on the national radio program Democracy Now? So, I wanted to incisively debunk at least some of the major arguments used by certain Left icons in denying the power and influence of the Israel lobby in U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East and in suppressing discussion of its power domestically. Now, some people will bring up a red herring list of other possible influences in U.S. Mideast foreign policy to deny my analysis, but here I am dealing with THE ISRAEL LOBBY and how leftist icons respond to that topic. My ultimate position is: whatever our positions on the lobby, do we get to honestly discuss and debate it in formal public settings? Please read more: read full story / add a comment

Galway’s newly elected Mayor, Green Party Councillor Niall Ó Brolchain and his deputy, Billy Cameron of the Labour Party have both refused to officiate at the Salthill Air Show. Instead both councillors will be in attendance at an alternative event being organised by the Galway Alliance Against War.

The Galway Alliance Against War is arranging its own air show at Nimmo’s Pier, the Claddagh at 1.30pm next Sunday as a counter event to the Salthill Air Show. Instead of warplanes and military helicopters, the Galway peace group will be floating 99 red balloons - biodegradable of course - over Galway Bay. The idea stems from the 1980s anti-war pop song of the same name, 99 Red Balloons. (Lyrics of song attached below)

'Knowledge is no load'........Today Knowledge flounders in vanity by revelations of a woman who forms the centre stage in Irish politics.

Money is the core ingredient of motive......entertainment, dress, holidays, no divorce because after all that would involve the judiciary deciding how to allocated funds......a deletion of power!!!!

Remember: The bus pass was a great populist move but as we moved into the pre-ordained capitalist route, privatisation will no doubt end this.

Yes, the 1970's, a woman could marry into a farm and the husband could leave it to the son.....and her fate could be the county home

But does anyone ask about Divorce, the fact that there is no clean break, the fact it is 50/50, the fact that when a person dies, their spouse is notified and within 6 months can make a claim on their estate.....

What about the 2nd bite of the Cherry.....The truth is there is one rule for the rich ......... and a completely different one for the ordinary person.

The trend in Ireland is to leave the house with wife, contributing to men living in one bed flats and in some cases homeless.

The English divide.........What is Fair? read full story / add a comment

Today Conor Lenihan , Minister of Children , who was vaguely
absent , the weeks of the constitutional crisis provoked by the release of Mr A by Ms Justice Mary Laffoy admitted to reporters
that he would listen to young people regarding the age of consent.
This was followed by a worthy statement, wherein he said that
though he would listen, the final decision on age of consent
rested with the deputies( one presumes in the Dail) and not with
the views of the people they hope to question on their sexual habits. read full story / add a comment

The Vocational Education Committees and their teaching staff unions seem to be in a bit of a muddle about whether or not teachers at Youthreach centres should be properly qualified. Youthreach is an alternative education facility for pupils aged between 15 and 21 who have not succeeded educationally within the ordinary school system. There can be a variety of reasons - social, educational, cultural - why this happens and the centres provide a potentially valuable opportunity to support a group of young people who would otherwise be seriously disadvantaged. read full story / add a comment
