Gerry O'Connor one of Irelands most outstanding fiddle player will headline this event with a group of his favourite musicians. An “Action On Suicide” Rally will be held on Wednesday, 28th February 2007 in The Round Room adjacent to the Mansion House, Dublin 2 from 10am to 3pm. This is a very strange story. The relative casualties - seven coalition dead, 300 insurgents dead, suggests that a massacre took place. In the Irish Times it is stated that the Iraqi government originally claimed that the dead were Sunnis. I haven't managed to find an independent assessment of this story. A genocide is engulfing the people of Gaza while a silence engulfs its bystanders. "Some 1.4 million people, mostly children, are piled up in one of the most densely populated regions of the world, with no freedom of movement, no place to run and no space to hide," wrote the senior UN relief official, Jan Egeland, and Jan Eliasson, then Swedish foreign minister, in Le Figaro. Robert Drinan SJ, who was elected to the US Congress on an Anti-War ticket has died. Drinan was elected in 1970, after he beat longtime Democratic Rep. Philip J. Philbin. He became the first member of Congress to call for the impeachment of Richard Nixon for what Drinan viewed as the administration's undeclared war against Cambodia.
