Sometimes politicians have to lose to win so the other side can show its true colours. Trump is the standout example, says Prof James Allan. Had he won in 2020, we would not have had the blitz of the last four weeks.

international / arts and media / news report Friday September 12, 2003 17:20 by ec
the 'Next 5 Minutes' festival of new media is on in Amsterdam at present. Part of the event is the temporary creation of a huge online media library with high quality MPEG 4 files of activist/political film and video. The selection available is awesome and includes the brand new 'We Interrupt this Empire' documentary on the shutdown of San Francisco at the start of Gulf War II.

It also really gives you an idea of the vast amount of Activist Video being made and not being seen and to me points up a need for an ongoing library of this stuff being available online.

The quality of the files is fine for screenings and all you need to do so is access to a laptop and a video projector.

So if you have a fast connection (I don't) then get downloading. read full story / add a comment

You can listen to him on radio @ 11.00pm on Saturday or 12.30 pm on Sunday and/or download his reports from NEARfm's website (Saturday and sunday will not be available till Monday, though!) http://www.nearfm.ie/cancun.html read full story / add a comment
