The support for continued action on the streets against occupation was very visible and vocal. Passers by of all ages and walks of life stopped to listen to our speak-out from a megaphone, which we used to bring everyone anti-war, anti-occupation and anti-globalisation news from the city, from Ireland, from Evian and from Iraq itself... read full story / add a comment

Striking is the only option left for Bombardier Aerospace's put upon workforce. Unions have exhausted all other outlets. Management at Bombardier Aerospace are intent on closing the factory anyway, by laying off 1,500 of its workforces, after already laying of 2000, is an indication that Bombardier Aerospace are winding down their operations in Belfast. read full story / add a comment

Looking at the Northern ireland school's league tables, surprise, surprise we find that Lagan college is at the bottom of the schools league for GCSE results in the whole of the belfast area, out of all the schools in belfast. Lagan is fifth from the bottom of the league table for all schools in northern ireland. What does this tell us about senior management at lagan college. It indicates clearly that the senior management at Lagan, who all drive plush expensive limosines, don't give a fuck about providing children who choose integration a proper education. They are clearly sending out the message that the majority of integrated children don't deserve an education. read full story / add a comment

The Campaign Against Service Charges held a meeting in Dun Laoghaire on Thursday the 5th of June with an attendance of approximately sixty people. The meeting was chaired by Donal Ni Fherraigh, the speakers were Richard Boyd Barret the Chair of the campaign and Mick O Brien of Sinn Fein. The flavour of the meeting was a blend of anger and nervousness at the imminent legislation which the PD/FF government are trying to push through which would request that refuse collectors refuse to collect the bins from the people whom have not paid the unfair double tax. Several proposals were carried including the need for more localised meetings which will commence over the coming weeks and from there arrange places to dump rubbish and to picket local T.Ds and councillors. read full story / add a comment
