I was at the monthly delegates meeting of the Dublin Council of Trade Unions (DCTU), which takes place on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 8pm in Liberty Hall, last Tuesday, March 9th, as the CPSU's An Post Branch Committee's delegate, where it was shamefully confirmed that the annual May Day Dublin march organised by the Dublin Council of Trade Unions on May Day, May 1st had been cancelled this year. read full story / add a comment

The European Parliament today overwhelmingly approved the ratification of a new agreement on scientific and technical co-operation with Israel, a decision that was immediately condemned by the Ireland Palestine Solidarity Campaign. The DCC in association with the Cycle Campaign Network and the UK Cyclists Touring Club will host a conference on May 1st in Trinity College for cycle campaigners in Ireland and the UK. The conference will feature talks by members of various cycling campaigns in the UK and Ireland and also urban designer, Jan Gehl from Copenhagen. The weekend will include social events organised for the evening before, the Saturday night, and Sunday 2nd.
